After the release of his self-titled album, singer-songwriter and Virginia native Luke Richard Powers kicks off his Blue Ridge Folk tour at the Millwald Theater.

Luke Richard Powers is a homegrown singer-songwriter raised on the tunes of James Taylor and John Denver. He got his start performing in a local sandwich shop at the age of 16 and released his debut EP, "I Wishing World," in early 2021. While his early work held loosely to the folk genre with an indie-rock flare, Luke began returning to his roots with his record, "As I Am," in May of 2022.

Luke spent most of 2023 writing, releasing a handful of singles and composing his self-titled album released on April 12, 2024. Since then, he’s moved beyond solo performing backed by a band of Charlottesville locals with a sound that he describes as Avett Brothers meets Drew Holcomb with a modern folk edge. Luke welcomes you into his world of writing shaped by heartfelt simplicity and honest reflection.
