SPRING 2024 INTERNSHIP PROGRAM

Think a career in the arts may be right for you?

So much more goes into live performances beyond the entertainers onstage. There are dozens of businesses that together create the business of show. If you’re aiming for an offstage career in theatre, but you don’t know where to look, an internship is an ideal way to explore different areas of the industry and learn skills that will help you in your future career.

The Millwald Theatre Internship Program introduces high school, college, and graduate students to the many career options available to them in the arts; focusing on operations, technical, marketing, programming, and arts management. Under the guidance of Millwald staff, participants will have opportunities to explore responsibilities and tasks for a variety of arts jobs and have a greater understanding of non-profit operations. Students who are pursuing a career in other fields such as marketing and fundraising are also encouraged to apply.

The program requires a time commitment up to 20 hours per week from March - May 2024. Pending the needs of individual departments, and true to the nature of the world of performing arts, flexibility in daily and/or weekly work scheduling is often required.

In order to be considered, applicants must submit an online application as well as a resume, cover letter, up to date unofficial transcript and a recommendation letter. Please fill out the application below and send all supporting documentation or any questions about the program to suzy@themillwald.org.
